[vc_row][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_column_text]From the 29th of Nov until the 6th of Dec I spent a week in Tokyo. It was my first time visiting this giant city. For everyone who doesn't know, Tokyo is the most populous metropolitan area in the world. Since I was traveling alone most of the time I would just randomly roam around the streets and try to absorb as much stuff as possible. I challenged myself to check out as many pairs of eyes as possible. This can be quite exhausting after some time. Another thing that stood out to me
was the huge amount of seemingly weird combinations. „Wow, these guys don't really care about sticking to the classy white belongs to white scheme!“
For example I found a store that's a Gym & a Bar! How cool is that?
In the back of the location you can exercise and afterwards you can have a drink with your friends in the front at the Bar. The usual approach to exercising suggests to eat healthy and not to drink any alcohol at all. But why not discard this approach and combine these two?! Why not make it more easy to socialize and hang out at the Gym? This idea really fascinates me, because in such a simple way it showed me how I am stuck in my patterns of ordinary thinking. I would have never thought of the idea to combine a Gym & a Bar. In my mind it doesn't belong together, but when you think about it, it's a fucking brilliant idea actually! Ideas like these don't care about Dogmas or ordinary ways of life. These people did what they liked and it works perfectly.
Another shop I found in the streets of Tokyo was a small store for clothing and fishing equipment. The design of this shop was more like a high class fashion boutique, but they were selling fisherman equipment! I never saw anything like that. All of the fisherman stores I saw in my life were pretty boring to be honest.
Since 2014 I am a freelance filmmaker trying to be someone. Filmmaking is my life and it satisfies my creative needs in many ways. But besides that I still have another dream. I am a huge pizza lover and pizza is probably the one dish I ate most in my life. I also have the dream to open up a pizzeria one day. Traditional style. Napoletana, you know.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_single_image image="4278" img_size="full"][vc_column_text]Maybe I should combine these two. Open up a film production and next door a pizza place.
It sounds funny in the first place, like the Gym & Bar, but when you think it over, it is be pretty handy actually. I mean, all day making movies makes you hungry and why not walk over to the rooms next door and have some slices of pizza?
You see where I am getting here. I'm suggesting more courage of combining stuff that doesn't seem to belong together in the first place. After all, if you think about it, it makes a lot of sense. And fun![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image="4276" img_size="full" alignment="center"][/vc_column][/vc_row]
